Kettlebells are often used in explosive, swinging movements which utilise the whole bodies muscular system. The displacement of the weight from the hand requires that the stabilisers and synergystic muscles engage more with each movement.

Our kettlebell training course covers both the techniques and the information that is required to be able to teach safe and effective kettlebell classes on one to one sessions.

The mentor who will be teaching you the kettlebell training course is called Graeme Cleland. Graeme has wrestled in the U.S and has a hands on, fundamental and practical approach to the science and art of kettlebells.
When you are on our kettlebell training course you will be required to demonstrate your ability to safely teach and perform a variety of kettlebell exercise.
You will be assessed teaching two of the following exercises:
- Swing and figure 8
- High pull and clean
- Snatch and press
- Windmill and turkish get up
Before your assessment you will be given a clear assessment criteria, we will also give you written and verbal feedback after your assessments. You will be given a case study that will be part of your assessment criteria, this has to be returned to us along with a portfolio of the work that you will be given on the course. After this has been returned and verified you will be provided with the certificate.
The certificate you will get
You will be provided with an Active IQ Level 2 certificate ion kettlebells.
In order for you to be suitable for the course you will need physical exertion and individual participation. You will need to hold a level 2 certificate in fitness instruction which may include:
- Level 2 gym instructor
- Level 2 exercise to music
If you only want to complete the training for fun or experience and you aren’t worried about getting a certificate then there are no formal pre-requisities for this programme.
